Biography

Dr. Mark Ferro is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences and Pediatrics at McMaster University. He obtained his PhD in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from Western University and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in psychiatric epidemiology at the Offord Centre for Child Studies at McMaster University. Dr. Ferro was the recipient of a Banting Fellowship from the Government of Canada and is currently supported by an Early Career Award from Hamilton Health Sciences. His program of research takes an inter-disciplinary approach to better understand psychiatric comorbidity in children with chronic health conditions, including the measurement of mental health and quality of life and social and clinical determinants of health. He has particular interest in family processes and contextual factors that influence the mental health of children from childhood to young adulthood.
